ABOUT CASTEEL CO. & PRESS
Casteel Co. & Press was created to publish stories with purpose — stories that make people feel seen, understood, and a little less alone.
From personal stories of life after breast cancer to children’s books that give a voice to experiences that can be difficult to explain, each book is created with honesty, heart, and a reason for being told.
Every story has a purpose. Every voice matters.
Tammy Casteel is an author, advocate, and founder of Casteel & Co. Press.
Her writing grew from her own life experiences and a desire to turn difficult chapters into something that could help someone else. From sharing her personal journey after breast cancer to writing a children's book inspired by her daughter's experience with selective mutism, Tammy writes about the things that aren't always easy to talk about.
Through Casteel & Co. Press, she hopes to continue creating books that help people feel seen, start conversations, and remind readers that their stories and voices matter.
Tammy's own story has shaped much of the work she does today. After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022, she became an advocate for body autonomy, awareness, and helping others feel less alone in the choices they make for themselves. She believes there is power in speaking openly about the parts of life people are often expected to keep quiet.
She is also the founder of Beyond Pink Ribbons, a nonprofit created to provide practical support to individuals facing breast cancer. For Tammy, helping others isn't separate from her writing—it's part of the same purpose: taking what she has lived through and using it to make someone else's road a little easier.
Her books reach beyond one subject or one audience. Whether she is writing about breast cancer, identity, finding your voice, grief, or the experiences that shape us, she wants her work to feel real and human.
Outside of writing and advocacy, Tammy is a mother and grandmother who is still discovering new chapters of her own life. She loves being near the water, long walks, country music, and the freedom that comes with becoming more comfortable in your own skin.
She believes some of the most important stories are the ones we once struggled to tell—and sometimes sharing them is exactly how someone else realizes they aren't alone.
